Longarm Quilting

What is it?

The basic definition is longarm quilting is the process of using a longarm sewing machine to stitch the 3 layers of a quilt together- the quilt top, batting, and backing.

OK, that’s the technical definition of longarm quilting. In addition to that, I feel longarm quilting is adding another layer of dimension to your quilt. The quilting enhances the piecing, fabric choices, or it can bring out another overall design element to the quilt. Sometimes the quilting is the star, sometimes it plays a very subtle role in the background, or at times, a balance of both. It really depends on the quilt and what the quilt needs to shine. Longarm quilting is the combination of the technical and the artistic working together to enhance the overall look and feel of the quilt as a whole.

I do hand guided edge to edge designs on an APQS Lucey.

I am currently offering longarm quilting to individuals who are local to Ross County. Please contact me for more information at: kathy@truehollowquilts.com
